About these terms
They apply when you book a consultation with us or engage us for any service. Where you have signed a separate written agreement, that agreement takes precedence over anything inconsistent here.
If the student is under 18, these terms are agreed with a parent or guardian, who is responsible for fees.
What we provide
- University Success Consulting. Structured guidance through the admissions process, tailored to the student's goals and profile.
- Academic Tutoring. Subject teaching with a tutor matched to the student's syllabus.
- Entrance Testing Courses. Preparation for university admissions tests.
Services can be combined, and the mix can be adjusted during an engagement by agreement.
The consultation
The initial 30-minute consultation is free and carries no obligation on either side. Its purpose is to establish where the student stands and whether we can be useful. If we do not think we can be, we will say so.
Starting an engagement
An engagement begins when we have agreed, in writing, the services to be provided, the expected duration and the fees. We will confirm the consultant assigned to the student before work starts.
Fees and payment
Fees are agreed with you in writing before an engagement starts, and are quoted per session. We quote and invoice in your local currency. We do not take a deposit.
We invoice after each session has taken place. Payment is due within seven days of the invoice date. If an invoice is still unpaid after that, we will send a reminder, and we may pause further sessions until it is settled.
If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU, you have 14 days from the day an engagement is agreed to cancel it without giving a reason. If you ask us to begin work inside that period and then cancel, you pay for the sessions delivered up to the point you tell us, and nothing more.
Cancellation and rescheduling
A session can be moved or cancelled without charge if you tell us at least 24 hours beforehand. A session cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, is charged in full.
If we have to move a session, we will give you as much notice as we can and will not charge you for it.
What we do and do not promise
We do not guarantee admission to any university, a particular grade, or a particular score in an admissions test. No adviser honestly can: admissions decisions are made by universities on criteria they control and do not fully publish.
What we do commit to is that the consultant assigned will be suitably qualified for the work, that sessions will be delivered as scheduled, and that you will receive updates that let you see what is being done and how the student is progressing.
Where we publish outcome figures, they describe a defined past cohort and the basis is stated alongside them. They are not a forecast for any individual student.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information about the student's grades, subjects and target courses. Our advice is only as good as what we are told.
- Attend sessions and complete agreed preparation between them.
- Meet the deadlines set by universities and awarding bodies. We will flag them, but we cannot submit on your behalf.
- Tell us promptly if something is not working, so it can be fixed while there is still time.
Academic integrity
We help students plan, draft, edit and improve their own work. We do not write personal statements, essays or applications for students, we do not sit tests on their behalf, and we will not assist with anything a university or awarding body would treat as misconduct.
An application must be the student's own work and their own voice. We will decline a request that crosses that line and, if it is repeated, we will end the engagement.
Intellectual property
Our frameworks, course materials, question banks and written guidance remain ours. They are provided for the personal use of the student engaged with us, and may not be copied, shared or resold.
Work the student produces is the student's own.
